Meet the Interns: Miro Arguijo

Hello! My name is Miro Arguijo and I am a junior Communication Studies and General Business double major at Manchester University. I am the new summer 2013 Communications intern at Lendingahand.net. My hobbies include playing tennis, listening to music, cooking, eating, napping, and religiously watching sitcoms. I am involved in a variety of different activities on campus. I am a member of the tennis team, secretary of the Communication Club, secretary of MAC (Manchester Activities Council), Exercise and Sports Sciences and Athletics Department administrative assistant, and Spartan Ambassador. An interesting fact about me is that every summer I choose three or four television shows and watch the whole series from start to finish. Some random facts are that I am naturally a left-handed person but have been taught how to do everything with my left hand. I golf and bat left-handed but play tennis, throw, and write with my right hand. I also do not like sweets like chocolate, brownies, cake, fudge, or cupcakes. My last interesting fact is that I can’t curl my tongue and I am the only one in my family who can’t. I am really excited to return to the Lendingahand.net team and can’t wait to make a difference in our community!

Meet the Interns: Hayley Feichter

Hello everyone!

I'm Hayley Feichter, an event planning intern for the summer. I am going into my sophomore year at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, majoring in Public Relations and double minoring in International Studies and Social Media Marketing. I live, however, in Antwerp, Ohio, which is just over the Indiana/Ohio border and only about a 30 minute drive.

I'm very involved on campus with my sorority (Kappa Delta) and other activities such as the on-campus, weekly TV show, hall council, and various clubs and organizations. When I'm not in class, working on homework and projects, or staying busy with my activities, I enjoy hanging out with friends and having a good time. I love to dance and sing when I find the time. I also really like to scrapbook with my mom and bring out my crafty side.

A little fun fact about me: my real passion is traveling. It's a very expensive hobby so I have to save and plan accordingly, but I got my first "travelers bug" when I traveled to Europe in 2009. I was a Rotary Outbound Youth Exchange Student to Stuttgart, Germany, my sophomore year in high school. I stayed with a host family for the entire year and was fortunate enough to travel all over Europe including France, Italy, Brussels, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, and Greece. I became fluent in German as well as learning a few phrases in other languages. It was an incredible experience and now I just want to travel the world. My next adventure will be to study in London for 3 weeks in January and I cannot wait!

I am very excited to intern for Lendingahand and gain some real-world experiences in my field while also making an impact and helping the community. I've enjoyed my first few days here and I am looking forward to see what the rest of the summer has in store.

Meet the Interns: Katelyn Waters

Hello!

I am Katelyn Waters and the event planning intern at Lendingahand.net. I just completed my junior year at Ball State University studying Organizational Communications. Along with my course work, I am extremely involved in Greek life as Vice President of Recruitment in Alpha Omicron Pi. I am excited to be spending this summer here in Fort Wayne with my friends and family. I look forward to many Tin Caps games, small road trips, and visiting the local restaurants I've missed while being away during the school year. I enjoy taking fitness classes with my favorites being turbo kick, real ryder cycling, and yoga. Though I like to keep busy and active, I always love a relaxed night in watching Netflix or playing board games with a chai tea latte in hand.
